POSITION SUMMARY

This position will support the MassMutual

Direct

to Consumer team. The DTC team is responsible

for business and model exploration, refinement

and ev olution. W e seek to do this in a high

caliber team. W e are a flat organization,

working as a cohesiv e team on multiple

ideas/pilots, scaling existing businesses at any

This position will support the MassMutual Direct to Consumer team. The DTC team is responsible for business and model exploration, refinement and evolution. We seek to do this in a high caliber team. Within the team the role of the data management consultant will be to support the data, reporting and analytics needs of the team. This position will work to develop advanced reporting and analytics capabilities needed to support work across the business. They will partner with other team members to find new ways to gain data and identify insights, for example helping to identify which business questions to answer through data. This position will partner with the business leaders to identify strategic business questions that will help the Direct to Consumer story. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Development & analysis of monthly, quarterly and ad hoc senior leadership reports; develop the story supporting the results and provide crisp and insightful analysis for customers

  • Use business acumen and understanding of the business to drive meaningful communications and reporting

  • Play a key role in complex projects involving multiple disciplines/business units; use problem solving to steer effective outcomes

  • Work with team to develop advanced reporting capabilities needed to support work across business

  • Partner with other team members to find new ways to gain data and identify insights

  • Identify key business questions which can be answered through data

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all KPIs, metrics and data (operational dashboards, etc)

  • Synthesizing large amounts of information to key messages on presentation-friendly media and advising senior leadership and MassMutual Board of Directors on opportunities to achieve greater value from strategic execution

  • Provide concise, clear and synthesized presentation of information, focusing on the key points for management discussion CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to analyze data sets to efficiently and effectively extract, transform and summarize data to report

  • Understanding of digital businesses and marketing analytics

  • Professional certifications such as MBA, FSA, FCIA, CPA or CFA preferred

  • Strong written, oral communication, and collaboration skills that enable clear and concise communication of data issues and analysis that can be understood by broad audience

  • Background working with tools such as Google Analytics, DCM, Zendesk, HP Vertica, Tableau

  • Must be able to recognize patterns in data and remove “noise” from “insights”

  • Expert in data management principles and data normalization

  • 2+ years experience building reports, developing models and insights

  • Experience in developing reports, charts and visualization of data

  • Significant Financial acumen or Financial Reporting experience

  • Strong communications skills, written and verbal

  • Strong executive presence

  • Ability to lead others trhough change

  • Ability to engage and inspire people at all levels

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional groups

  • Demonstrable commitment to talent development and diversity
