The Corporate Finance Organization began a transformation journey to achieve our CFO’s vision and goals by 2020 and data analytics is central to the “CFO 2020” strategy. As part of this transformation, Corporate Finance is establishing a new Data & Analytics Office that is tasked with delivering industry leading capabilities in Finance data management and analytics.
We seek an exceptional leader to join our team to implement and operationalize data governance. This role will be accountable for driving tangible business value through the delivery and adoption of leading data management practices including:
Data governance: Defining and implementing the data governance operating model with clear roles and responsibilities for effective stewardship of corporate finance data
Data quality: Implementing a comprehensive data quality framework to ensure the accuracy of our financial reports and analytics, while measuring and improving the quality of our data over time.
Metadata management: Collection and curation of business and technical metadata in a structured repository to enable easy access, discovery and consistent usage of data.
This role will be based out of our Boston, MA office and will require collaboration with leaders across corporate finance and other internal teams and vendors.
Key role responsibilities
Define the data governance operating model for corporate finance and partner with senior finance leaders to confirm data domain ownership and operationalize data stewardship
Create data management policies and standards and roll-out processes to govern changes to data flows, data models, master/reference data across the corporate finance data/analytics landscape
Establish governance councils and working groups to ensure consistency and adoption of governance across data domains
Create and execute on a strategic roadmap for measuring, baselining, enhancing and sustaining data quality improvements over time
Define a comprehensive data quality framework including validation processes, patterns, exception handling approaches, metrics and stewardship responsibilities
Implement data quality controls in a flexible and scalable solution that allows data stewards the ability to easily create or manage rules and exception handling workflows
Implement a metadata solution to efficiently catalog available data sets and elements, their definitions, relationships and usage context
Adjust corporate finance technology processes to integrate data architecture reviews and maintenance of data quality rules and metadata
5+ years of experience leading data strategy/governance/quality initiatives for large financial institutions
10+ years of data management experience including data architecture, data quality management, metadata management, data governance and master/reference data management
Ability to think strategically and drive transformation in a federated operating culture
Data quality expert with demonstrated ability to deliver business results by improving quality of data
Deep knowledge of data quality architectures in the context of big data and a complex landscape of mission critical transactional and analytical systems
Experience with current metadata technologies for big data and traditional sources and challenges associated with cataloguing data sets and collecting data lineage
Strong leader with ability to build and inspire teams and develop relationships with multiple stakeholder groups to drive adoption and deliver expected benefits
Ability to deliver complex projects using effective planning, pragmatic approaches, and collaboration, despite obstacles and ambiguity
Corporate Finance (Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Valuation & Modeling, Procurement) exposure and familiarity with related data quality requirements
Data Management consulting experience
