POSITION SUMMARY

MassMutual is looking for an Enterprise Architect to support the Workplace business (Retirement/Pensions). As the complexity in the world continues to increase, it is getting harder to get simple. Within MassMutual Technology, we have undergone some recent changes to simplify our organization to deliver on this vision. We will be a dependable partner to our businesses by providing high quality IT services on time and within budget. We will do so by simplifying our architecture to focus on strategically valuable technologies, investing in our people to equip them with skills of the future, and promoting a culture of ownership and delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Working with channel leads and other peers in the business domains, provides expertise, elicits and captures business strategy using architectural models and views of enterprise processes, data and IT assets. Using these models and views, influences the development of a future state vision for the company, which depicts the intended business strategy.

•Develops technology roadmaps, capability reference architecture and/or enterprise blueprint for one or more domains, which describes the point of arrival across the enterprise and the critical strategic objectives necessary to arrive at that future state.

•Influences strategic direction and financial investments at a domain or line of business level of the organization through personal interactions with influential leaders, engagement in business planning, development of cost / benefit models.

•Creates actionable, context specific artifacts targeted to direct execution of a technology roadmap - i.e., a vision and plan for direction and project/program planning improvement for business capabilities and/or IT services.

•Drive cross functional team to deliver a complete program of foundational improvement, operating in a business space with many constituents, high complexity, large number of resources and some organizational change issues. Work will include identifying scope and setting direction, funding, resource negotiation, and conducting hands on design and construction as necessary.

•Working with business and program partner, provide expert in-depth input to identify, size and affinitize domain or line of business work efforts.

•Demonstrate thought leadership and catalyze innovation within MassMutual to achieve competitive advantage against the industry, engaging with and influencing peers in the external IT and Business industry.

•Provides calibrated design guidance for projects in execution, leading by example in order to affect design and process change, which advances MM towards the target state. Ensure the consistency and integrity of the overall experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•5 years of related IT architecture (Enterprise or Solutions Architecture) experience required

•Understanding of the impact of IT on business results.

•Experience in managing architectural engagements starting from building strong relationship with the various business & technology leads to balancing a wide variety of priorities.

•Experience and knowledge of business domain (Retirement / Workplace)

•Proven ability to promote ideas and proposals persuasively, shape stakeholders opinions, project a positive image, work through conflicts and negotiate win/win solutions.

•Assists in the development and definition of the business partners’ strategy.

•Deep technical knowledge across architecture disciplines: enterprise, solution, information, application, business, technology

•Ability to travel and work under periods of stress.

•Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•8 years of related IT architecture (Enterprise or Solutions Architecture) experience preferred.

•Experience and knowledge of business domain (Retirement Services & Life) preferred

•Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and reasoning skills.

•Demonstrated leadership in coordinating initiatives across business and organizational boundaries, and building effective cross-functional teams.
