Director, Employee Content and Campaigning

About the position

Reports into the Assistant Vice President responsible for employee/consumer marketing efforts within Workplace Solutions Marketing, MassMutual’s division that provides retirement and protection products to employees through the workplace. The Director of Employee Content and Campaigning must have a demonstrated expertise in driving consumer engagement and action by using strong insight and data-based strategic skills – and must be proficient in developing content and direct marketing programs from this foundation. This position must be able to apply segmentation and targeting strategies to drive employee appeal and engagement across product solutions (401k and voluntary benefits), channels, and touchpoints (portals, mobile app, face-to-face, etc). In addition, must be able to strategically inform direction, as well as delve into execution, be a supreme “teacher” and able to manage, train and inspire a small team of experience financial services marketers.

In the short term, the candidate will be focused on inculcating best practices in current employee content and campaigning landscape via:

  • Overseeing and reviewing all employee content supporting our efforts and elevating the content suite/approach to ensure it is comprehensive, based on consumer insights and drives action/positive outcomes

  • Ensuring multi-channel efforts are holistic and tie back to segmentation; content suite is based on best practices and leverages data and insights; as well as driving employee engagement to the next level through campaign automation (including collaborating with internal acquisition partners to build out automated employee email engagement tracks)

In the long term, this team will be execution arm to deploy industry led best practices in engaging employees to help them become more financially well by using consumer marketing best practices to drive financial wellness engagement through the workplace.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for planning, organizing, training and managing the small consumer content and campaign staff.

Drive ongoing best practices to elevate efforts of team. Pick up strategic insights and technology capabilities from key internal partners and apply those to this role to drive success.

In partnership with key partners use data to measure and iterate and inform how to have ongoing test, learn and iterate approach.

Translate approaches and any “sellable” differentiated capabilities that can be conveyed by sales and client management efforts in interactions with b2b partners (employers and financial advisors whom sell and service our offerings).

Qualifications

10 years marketing experience with expertise in consumer marketing and direct marketing

Highly effective strategic planner, taking ideas from concept to successful implementation and maintenance in a matrixed organization

Strong advocate of teamwork, performance excellence and continuous improvement.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proven ability to drive innovative ideas through to completion using research and insights

A plus is – experience in financial services translating complex financial products to consumers in compelling consumer based way.

Qualifications
