You will be joining a small, experienced legal and compliance team focused on moving at a rapid pace and providing innovative solutions in tandem with the growing business.

Your job will require you to work closely with your fellow team members, to help with a variety of tasks in the legal, compliance, information security, and state filing space. Some responsibilities include:

  • Conducting legal research and analysis and advising team members on results;

  • Drafting business communications and recommendations;

  • Assisting with regulatory and state filings – including help with drafting; and

  • Facilitating contract review and processing.


Prepare and evaluate legal documentation to resolve problems. Identify legal issues that require attorney consideration and articulate such issues to attorneys. Evaluate and resolve matters.

Monitor new legislative, regulatory and case law developments; assess potential implications for the business, summarize and make recommendations. May initiate and oversee implementation of changes in internal procedures. Interacts with all levels, including leaders in the organization.

Draft/review procedures, participate on project teams, conduct process reviews/audits, create and deliver educational materials, and consult on business questions.

Collect, organize and prepare documentation to support information security policies and practices. Help investigate and respond to potential information security issues that may include client information or other confidential Company data.

Assist with broader compliance projects, regulatory audits, and complete special assignments as needed.

Work with business partners in operations, distribution, information security, and technology organizations to address compliance and regulatory issues.

Assist with state filings, including: reviewing contract information, helping to organize documentation, and assist with implementation of newly approved materials.


Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

  • Minimum 2-4 years relevant experience

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

  • Ability to work from our NYC office

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Paralegal experience

  • Working knowledge of and experience with privacy, information security, and insurance laws and regulations

  • Experience using Lexis Nexis and other tools to research legal and regulatory issues
