This position in MassMutual’s Digital Experience organization which is part of the Customer Experience group, is focused on creating, delivering and supporting innovative digital experiences for our consumers and customers. We are comprised of several cross-functional, product centric groups spanning all aspects of our digital ecosystem end-to-end (including product design, development, delivery, and support) across all digital channels enterprise wide.

This role’s responsibilities include :
Plan design development activities based on our established approach
Review competitors/complementors identify differentiating capabilities and design trends
Lead workshops to support the design development process with cross-disciplinary team members and business partners
Design experience concepts rapidly and iteratively to address the user and business needs
Skilled storyteller able to evangelize process and design concept. Present work to team members and stakeholders
Detail out design concepts with user flows and wireframes. Develop detailed design annotations for developers and QA engineers
Leverage existing experience pattern library while looking for opportunities to extend and innovate
Use data to drive design decisions
Employ and participate in the full range of user research methods:
Exploratory research in the early stages of concept development to identify users’ needs, motivation and frustrations as well as comparable tools
Heuristic analysis of digital experiences
Concept validation to ensure design ideas are moving in the right direction with early testing
Usability testing to make sure users are able to successfully accomplish their tasks with the proposed design
Work closely with the rest of the product design team, review your own work and critique the team’s design
Collaborate with cross disciplinary team and partner with business stakeholders to develop designs from concept to details and capture feasibility and applicability. Closely works with copywriters
Coaches less experienced members of the team and support their growth.
Be autonomous. Take full ownership of work, and responsibility for every last detail. Communicates progress and issues that affect expected completion. Troubleshoots alternatives for on-time delivery
Evaluate issues with technology and business partners. Identify potential solutions
At least 5 years of experience designing digital products and services; experience designing for financial services is a huge plus.
Skilled in the creation of detailed wireframes, app maps, user & feature flows, and information architecture deliverables.
People-focused design mentality. Constantly looking to hone design instinct through user feedback. Whether through hands-on user research, or by designing options for an A/B test.
Experience creating minimum viable products, utilizing rapid prototyping and iterative design techniques.
Passionate for learning new software design technologies and trends.
Ability to switch between sketching concepts, updating flows or polishing the designs that represent the big-thinking work.
Experience creating digital pattern libraries/style guides to communicate consistent, cross-platform design.
In-depth understanding of different platform design form factor
