The Enterprise Tools and Services team is responsible for ensuring that our Application Performance Monitoring platform is available for service and can support the demands placed upon it from applications across the MassMutual Enterprise. The ideal candidate must be skilled at working with AppDynamics APM tool (particularly SaaS model) as well as have familiarity with the supporting infrastructure which hosts the platform. Knowledge of integrations such as Splunk and ServiceNow are a plus.
Handle escalated support issues
Execution and monitoring of system utilities
Evaluate AppDynamics Patches and Fixes as needed for potential implementation
Continuous evaluation of APM infrastructure components to ensure system resiliency and health
Work with architecture, business and delivery teams to determine strategic direction for APM platform
Help users develop and/or enhance reports and dashboards for meaningful application metrics
Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive processes increasing efficiency
Orchestrating cross infrastructure team work groups to resolve or enhance system performance, incidents and maintenance
Educate the team and applications teams on new updates
Communicate and collaborate with other application support teams technical resources and stakeholders regarding status, technical issues and creative solutions
Monitor system usage for compliance
Administer, monitor and maintain system security
Research and keep current on APM technologies and communicate trends and future needs from a business perspective
Build client trust and respect, establish client relationships, and develop rapport with client
Advocate the APM solution and processes and seek partnership with business application teams to solicit buy in through engagement
Participate and engage in all team meetings
Document best practices and operational procedures
Facilitate continuous improvement within the environment
Contribute to annual budget planning process and manage APM platform capacity
3 years of experience as an APM Administrator
Ability to own and drive to resolution of issues
Strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written to both technical and non-technical audiences that are in a geographically dispersed environment (conference calls, Skype, face-to-face)
Ability to work in a collaborative environment and on multiple assignments at once
Experience functioning & executing work in a fast-paced iterative environment such as Agile
Demonstrated initiative to recommend process improvements and demonstrated creative thinking
Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to grasp concepts quickly
Demonstrated sharp, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to guide / mentor other Administrators and troubleshoot issues
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
5+ years of experience as a APM Administrator
Experience with monitoring application technologies (Java, .NET, PHP, Python)
Experience with WebSphere Application Servers and .NET framework
Insurance and/or financial services industry experience
Experience using JIRA
