The Field Training Consultant uses performance consulting methodologies to consult with General Agents, Sales Managers and field management to lead and drive learning and development strategies critical to the success of the firms. Consult on, develop and monitor firm progress on the execution of learning strategies that continuously improve and optimize firm effectiveness. Measure the effectiveness of learning and development plans to goals, and communicate results with remediation plans when required. Responsible for integrating MassMutual’s curriculums and programs, as well as MassMutual industry approved content when appropriate, into customized learning programs. Partner with senior leaders and regional business partners to integrate MassMutual strategic and required training programs into all firm level plans.

Must possess a strong knowledge of

•Training strategy, theory, and methodologies

•Needs and challenges of a general agent distribution channel

•Performance factors that lead to successful sales results and other key performance metrics

Role Characteristics

Performs the following:

•Consultation around firm training structure, operation plan, funding model and culture

•Learner needs analysis for a variety of firm roles including advisor, leadership, and firm staff

•Complex training program design incorporating effective solutions, approach and reinforcement

•Measurement of training ROI

In addition qualified candidates will:

•Handle complex long-term focus projects involving multiple disciplines or business units

•Work independently and with management on high visible, divisional/cross-divisional complex projects

•Sought as a key resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems

•Advance the interest of the company by serving on teams that are external to the organization when appropriate

•Drive continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility

QUALIFICATIONS

•Individual typically has at least 8+ years of training consultation experience

•Bachelor’s Degree preferred

•Highly proficient in Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

•Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

•Insurance industry knowledge a plus, including life insurance (especially whole life and variable universal life), annuities (fixed and variable), disability and long term care

•Experience in advisor sales, wholesaling, and/or sales skills training
