This role will be responsible for multiple cross-functional activities to support the development, execution, sustainment and improvement of various fraud prevention and identification capabilities including, but not limited to:
Perform risk assessment and gap analysis (planned and ad-hoc) to identify and evaluate fraud risks and control weaknesses; ensure appropriate countermeasures are in place
Build cross functional collaboration to enhance enterprise fraud prevention and detection capabilities
Continually monitor, test and evaluate the effectiveness of business processes and controls that are in place to prevent fraud
Proactively monitor key data sources (internally and externally) to identify recently exposed and emerging fraudulent trends; take action to mitigate MassMutual impact
Identify and evaluate new and emerging fraud prevention tools and technologies designed to combat fraud and achieve efficiencies; drive implementation of selected tools and technologies
Create a culture that encourages employees to ask questions and seek guidance relative to fraud and other suspicious activity
Increase the awareness and understanding of fraud prevention and detection through the design and development of comprehensive training, policies and procedures
Develop indicators to better prevent and detect potential fraudulent activity through red flag reporting and predictive modeling
Collect, receive, analyze and interpret information and data related to emerging incidents of fraud
Establish reporting cadence to leadership and key stakeholders on the results of fraud prevention and detection initiatives
Consolidate data to show continuous improvement, efficiencies gained and risks averted through fraud prevention efforts
Provide consultation to internal customers and business partners; Be a trusted consultant to work collaboratively with the business to quantify fraud risk and exposure
Work across all stakeholder teams to track implementation status, identify risks and issues for escalation and determine readiness for implementation
Handles complex long-term focused projects involving multiple disciplines or business units
Works independently and with management on highly visible, divisional/cross-divisional complex projects
Sought as a key resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems
Advances the interest of the company by serving on teams that are external to the organization when appropriate
Drives continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility
Ability to identify organizational risks and execute plans that build strategic programs to mitigate those risks
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
5+ years’ experience in proactively preventing and detecting financial fraud and/or internal controls
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Strong project management and project execution skills
Proven track record working across multiple/matrixed teams to meeting project milestones
Ability to make recommendations and/or decisions based on thoughtful analysis while exercising sound judgment, escalating priority issues as appropriate
Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems
Strong relationship building skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; strong presentation skills
Proven ability to influence key business partners
Self-discipline to work independently to achieve specific goals
Self-motivated individual who can be successful in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision
Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
Must have proficiency in and knowledge of computer software including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
MBA/Master’s degree preferred
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification
