The Non-Traditional Inforce Product Management (NIPM) team strives to be inforce product experts who determine and analyze inforce profitability and reprice non-guaranteed elements. To accomplish this, the target candidate will be expected to leverage their technical expertise and thought leadership to provide insightful, compelling analysis for MassMutual’s senior leaders and Chief Actuary.
The NIPM’s developers’s responsibilities will focus on inforce universal life, variable universal life and term product’s profitability and repricing non-guaranteed elements (cost of insurance mortality charges, expense charges, etc).
Inforce Product Profitability Analysis
Perform the annual product review – analyzing experience changes and determining recommendation. Analyze results, communicate conclusions and recommendations, and formulate proposals to resolve problems.
Develop, maintain and enhance asset share models to analyze inforce profitability for annual product reviews.
Meet model governance standards and controls
Non-guaranteed Element Development
Repricing non-guaranteed elements (cost of insurance charges, expense charges or current premiums) based on updated current experience.
Meet all statutory and ASOP requirements for assumptions and documentation
Other Business Support
Develop automated processes with a focus on accuracy and appropriate controls
Apply lean principles, problem solve, value stream map, etc. to develop and implement systems and process improvements.
Perform other inforce product tasks and projects as required (ex: model reviews in accordance with model governance guidelines).
2+ years of strong computer programming background, Python programming language required
Four-year college degree in computer science. Candidates with a degree in mathematics or related fields will be considered only if strong programming background is demonstrated.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access)
Proven analytical and problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and a quick learner
Capable of applying knowledge to handle problems independently
Seasoned individual capable of handling broad scope projects that have short to medium-term focus
High level of innovation and initiative
Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
- 2+ years of minimum experience in, or the desire and demonstrated ability to learn, the APL+Win programming language and VBA
