With supervision, this position studies, analyzes, and processes reinsurance transactions for Life and Group business.
With limited supervision, this position will play a key role in department projects and problem solving efforts. The responsibilities in this role require someone who is flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities.
Bill build a strong knowledge of reinsurance and work with partners and customers to develop process improvement initiatives.
Build a working knowledge of business rules, reinsurance contracts, underwriting and claims processing, reinsurance system interfaces and internal processing.
Will be responsible for system testing, supporting new product releases, treaty/reinsurer audits, and work to support various business objectives.
Design and perform audits and work to develop effective solutions to workflow/production issues.
From time-to-time, support for the reinsurance team’s other production tasks may be required.
Minimum of an Associate’s degree and relevant work experience.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, coupled with detail orientation and intellectual curiosity
Able to work effectively and independently on multiple tasks and projects, as well as under time pressure
Strong interpersonal skills; relationship-building and effective verbal and written communications
Positive attitude with enterprise and team orientation
Good judgement and situational awareness
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
5+ years of relevant experience in the life insurance industry
Prior experience or knowledge of reinsurance, underwriting, and claims processes a plus.
