MassMutual has been the #1 BOLI provider in the market for each of the last four years averaging $1.2 billion in annual sales. BOLI/COLI institutional assets at MassMutual approximate $20 billion in assets. We are seeking an Investment Liaison to work with investment managers, BOLI producers and clients on all aspects of the management of the $20B in assets. This position is the key interface in monitoring investment manager performance and communication of investment strategy and performance between the investment managers and BOLI brokers and clients. The position also participates in sales opportunities by communicating investment options for cash surrender value to perspective clients.
Reports to: Vice President, Institutional Insurance
Other key relationships: Sales, brokers and external investment managers
Provide information for 2,600 BOLI General Account clients’ due diligence needs
Research and prepare presentation material, presenting material to groups and one on one meeting’s, both pre-sale and existing clients.
Answer broker and client one off questions regarding the General Account, interest rates and the impact of economic events on MassMutual.
Participate/present at broker/client conferences and visit individual clients’ needs as needed.
Responsible for most aspects of $5 billion in assets of BOLI separate account and hybrid accounts for clients
Investment reporting and distribution
Investment guideline development and monitoring, investment manager relationship management
Analysis of existing and potential new managers, communication of investment manager investment style to clients, and relationship manager for stable value clients.
Visit investment managers once or twice annually.
Act as Private Client Group Product Manager ($200 million in assets and 100 high net worth clients)
Responsible for overall management of the business including oversite of client services and Treasury functions
Direct responsibility for investment manager relationships and investment reporting.
Visit each investment manager yearly.
Report internally with regard to assets by product, interest rate yields, global economic developments and internal business growth.
Work with division to expand investment knowledge through internal presentations, communications and informal meetings.
Comprehensive knowledge of full range of investment asset classes and experience articulating investment approach and philosophy.
Experience managing relationships with external investment managers.
Experience working in the investment division of a life insurance company with exposure to the management of the carrier’s general investment account.
Proficient at reviewing and analyzing both written (contracts, agreements, guidelines) and numerical (financial statements, investment performance reports) materials.
Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and build credibility with internal stakeholders, brokers, clients and prospects.
Ability to facilitate and present at broker/client conferences as well as one on one meetings.
CFA charterholder or equivalent background.
Series 6 or 7 required.
